State Playoff Tournament Information

Updated state playoff tournament program information has been released. Here is how the first and second round of the Tier 2 bracket is working out for us –

• We play Grandville High School at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
• If we beat Grandville, we play the winner of the Forest Hills / Anchor Bay game at 3 p.m.
• If we lose to Grandville, our season comes to an end.
• If we win both games, we play in the championship match being held on June 7 (location is to be determined).

Please note that there is no game on Sunday, June 2. The first and second round of the playoff tournament program is taking place on Saturday, June 1, only. We will talk about June 7 if we get past both games on Saturday, June 1.

As our game is at 1 p.m., it is feasible to drive the two-and-a -half hours to Holland in the morning, and then make the drive home in the afternoon. However, if the team would like to drive in Friday night, I can look into accommodations (similar to how we traveled to the Northcoast High School Rugby Festival in March). We will discuss our travel preferences at Tuesday’s practice.

Regarding practice next week, we are holding it on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Pierce. We are asking all players to attend, whether they can play on Saturday or not. We need to get our tournament roster ready to play two games in one day.

During this week’s practices, we will be distributing your player kit jerseys that are part of your player dues. In addition, we are selling custom BucRugby tank tops for $35.
