BucRugby Update: Week of March 8, 2026
This week, we are shifting our practice location to Norup International School (14450 Manhattan St, Oak Park, MI 48237) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday for the rest of March. We will be working hard four days a week at the field located behind Norup to prepare for our first tournament on March 21 in Mentor, Ohio.
March is an exciting month for us, as we have a Six Nations Watch Party and the Northcoast High School Rugby Festival coming up. A quick summary of our activities follow for your review.
Practice at Norup – We are now practicing at Norup International School (14450 Manhattan St, Oak Park, MI 48237) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until Spring Break. We are on a grass field, which means you will get dirty this time of the year. Remember to bring your cleats and mouthguard to every practice.
Northcoast High School Rugby Festival Zoom Travel Meeting – We are holding a travel information and event details meeting on Monday, March 9, at 8 p.m. for our upcoming trip to Mentor, Ohio, for the Northcoast High School Rugby Festival on Saturday, March 21. We will be traveling to East Cleveland on Friday, March 20, staying overnight at the Four Points by Sheraton Cleveland-Eastlake, playing two games on Saturday, then heading home. Travel costs, transportation, accommodations, and food will be discussed during Monday’s Zoom Meeting.
Six Nations Watch Party – The Wards are hosting our Six Nations Watch Team Social on Saturday, March 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. Food and beverages are being provided, so we need a solid headcount to plan for this fun event. Please contact Beth Ward at (248) 470-2482 or bethward78@gmail.com to RSVP.
Team Store Open Through Sunday – Our 2026 gear store is officially open. To access the store, please go to https://86400bbr.square.site/. The store will be active until Sunday March 15. All orders must be final by this date. Our goal is to deliver ordered gear at our team kickoff event at Sidecar in Birmingham on April 6th. For any items ordered with personalization you will receive a follow-up email, from the merchant, to provide the personalization for your items. You will enter your email at check-out. This year, we are using 86400 Global Marketing, a local Birmingham company, for our gear. There is no mark up on the gear. This is not a money-making endeavor for the program and, as a local Birmingham sports supporter, 86400 has deeply discounted each item as well.
Note: The website will indicate delivery to your home address. This is not correct. All gear will be delivered to players at either the kickoff event or a practice. Samples of each item will be available at practice this week for your players to try on before ordering.
