BucRugby Update: Week of April 19, 2026
The preseason is now in our rearview mirror and our regular season kicks off this week with our first divisional match against the Washtenaw High School Rugby Team on Thursday in Ypsilanti. We will be applying what we learned from our Rockford match last week to make course corrections and continue to improve as team.
Here is what we are tackling this week. . .
Monday through Wednesday – We are continuing to practice this week at Pierce Elementary from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We need all players to attend our trainings to prepare for our first divisional match of the season.
Thursday – We travel to Ypsilanti on Thursday, April 23, to play the Washtenaw High School Rugby Team a 6 p.m. Due to road construction, there is no good way to get there. So, plan on leaving at 3:30 p.m. to allow an hour and a half of travel time. We will warm up at 5 p.m. and kickoff at 6 p.m. sharp. This is a divisional game and will count toward our overall record and playoff considerations.
Game location:
Wall Park
7401 Platt Road
Ypsilanti, MI 48197
Midwest Boys Rugby Championship Tournament – The schedule for the Midwest Boys Rugby Championship and Festival Tournament has been released. Here is what the weekend holds for our team.

2 p.m. – Birmingham vs. Olentangy Blues Rugby
Sunday, May 3, 2026
