BucRugby Update: Week of April 26, 2026
Congratulations on winning our regular season opener against Washtenaw last week. The team applied lessons learned from our Rockford match to bring home a road victory. We now sets our sights on Troy United, who we play on Thursday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at Larson Middle School.
This will be a busy week for the Bucs, as we prepare to play Troy and travel to Elkhart, Indiana for the Midwest Boys Rugby Championship Tournament on Friday. Here is how our schedule looks.
Monday and Tuesday– We are continuing to practice this week at Pierce Elementary from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Due to a school event, we are not able to use the field and will not be holding practice on Wednesday. With only two practices this week, we need all players to attend both to prepare for the Troy match, as well as our three games on Saturday and Sunday at the Midwest tournament.
Thursday – We play our second divisional match of the season on Thursday against Troy United at 6 p.m. at Larson Middle School (2222 E Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48085). Players need to be dressed and ready to warm up at 5 p.m.
Friday – We will be leaving from Groves High School on Friday between 6-6:30 p.m. to head to Elkhart, Indiana for the Midwest Boys Rugby Championship Tournament.
Saturday – The Bucs will be playing two games on Saturday at the Moose Rugby Grounds, and one game on Sunday.
Saturday, May 2, 202610 a.m.: Red Field – Birmingham vs. St. Edwards High School2 p.m.: White Field – Birmingham vs. Olentangy Blues Rugby
Sunday – We will play Chesterton Academy at 11 a.m. on the Blue field on Sunday. At the conclusion of the match, we will head out to start the long ride home.

We already have reached the midway point of our 2026 season. The competition will only be getting better as we march toward the playoffs on March 23. The weather is heating up and so are the Bucs!
