BucRugby Update: Week of May 11, 2025
This week we are doubling up the rugby fun with a rare Monday, May 12, match against Anchor Bay high school and a Wednesday, May 14, match against Berkley High School. Here is how our week will shake out.
Monday Match vs. Anchor Bay High School
We head back to Anchor Bay to make up our SE7ENS games that were cancelled on April 25 due to thunderstorms in the area. Here are the details –
- We are playing at Anchor Bay Middle School North – 52805 Ashley St, New Baltimore, MI 48047
- Leave at 4 p.m. – It will take an hour or more to get there.
- Warmup at 5 p.m. – We need to use this time to switch our playing style over to sevens.
- Kickoff at 6 p.m. – We are playing two matches of sevens (or more). Therefore we need to have all of our healthy players make the trip.
- Please let a coach or a captain know if you need a ride to Anchor Bay as soon as possible.
Tuesday Practice at Pierce Elementary
We are practicing, as usual, at Pierce from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is an important session, as we need to prepare for the first of two must-win matches the following day on Wednesday against Berkley High School.
Wednesday Match vs. Berkley High School
We head to Norup International Academy (14450 Manhattan St, Oak Park, MI 48237) on Wednesday to play Berkley High School at 6 p.m. This is a very close away location for us, so I hope we can pack the stands with pirates on Wednesday. Be at Norup ready to warm up at 5 p.m. and play at 6 p.m.|
Thursday Practice
We will discuss holding a recovery practice on Thursday after our match against Berkley.
It is a fast and furious start to the week. Please be sure to contact a coach, a captain, or a selector if you need transportation to the Anchor Bay match or are unable to play on Monday, May 12.
