BucRugby Update: Week of May 17, 2026

We have come down to what COULD be our final week of the 2026 season. However, the Bucs are poised to control their own destiny over the next six days. A win against Howell High School on Wednesday will put the team in the number one seed coming out of the East Division for Saturday’s first round of the state D2 playoffs.

Here is how the week will play out –

Monday and Tuesday – We are continuing to practice this week at Pierce Elementary from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. We need all players to attend our trainings to prepare for our last game of the regular season – and the first round of the D2 playoffs.

Wednesday – We finish out the regular season at home against Howell High School on Wednesday, May 20, at 6 p.m. Like last Thursday, players need to be at Derby at 4:30 p.m. to help dress the field for the matches and warn up at 5 p.m.

Saturday – If all goes according to plan, we will play the fifth seed coming out of West Division 2 on Saturday, May 23, at 12 p.m. noon at the home fields of the Kalamazoo Rugby Football Club located at 3117 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49004. If we win our first-round game, we get to play in the semifinals on Saturday, May 30, at Farwell Field in Detroit.

The season may be drawing to a close, but the Bucs are heating up. You don’t want to miss this week’s two games!
