BucRugby Update: Week of May 18, 2025

The last week of the regular season is here, which we are closing out with our game against Howell High School at Howell on Wednesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. The team is coming off two convincing wins last week over Anchor Bay and Berkley High Schools. It looks like we are hitting our stride at the right time, just before playoffs on Saturday, May 31, in Holland.

But before we look too far ahead, here is what is on our schedule for this week.

Monday & Tuesday: Practice As Usual
We are at Pierce Elementary on both Monday and Tuesday, May 19-20, for practice. We are running at our usual time from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Howell Game
We are traveling to Howell to take on the Highlanders on Wednesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. Due to construction on I-696 and I-96, plan for over an hour of travel time to get Howell High School (1200 W Grand River Ave, Howell, MI 48843). We will warm up at 5 p.m. and kick off at 6 p.m. sharp. We need all our players to make the trip, as we will be playing a full 15v15 sanctioned match. This is a must-win to help put us in strong consideration for a D2 playoff bid. Please contact a coach or captain if you need a ride to the game or are unable to play on Wednesday.

Thursday Practice?
We will discuss holding a recovery training on Thursday at the conclusion of our Howell game.

Finally, your player kit jerseys are here! I will be handing them out at practice this week to players who have paid their dues.

Let’s close out the regular season strong with a solid win against Howell and head to the playoffs with an undefeated record.
