BucRugby Update: Week of May 25, 2025

The week that we have been preparing for all season is finally here. The first round of the Michigan High School Rugby State Playoffs kicks off on Saturday, May 31, in Holland. The Bucs are in a strong position to have a top seed in the Division 2 bracket. With all eyes on this Saturday, we will be spending this week to prepare to play our best rugby against against a very good west side team.
Here is how our week will go down –
No Practice on Monday
There is no practice on Monday in honor of the Memorial Day holiday.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
We are practicing, as usual, at Pierce Elementary from 5:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It would be great to have all 16 of our active players attend our sessions this week to help us get ready for our biggest game of the year.
Playoff Saturday
Details are still coming together, but we are planning to head to Macatawa Bay Middle School (3700 140th Ave, Holland, MI 49424) on Saturday to play in the first round of the playoffs at some time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We will be traveling with exactly 15, as one of our players is unavailable on Saturday. As we need 15 to take the field, please let me know if you are not able to play on Saturday. Once the league provides more information, we will decide if we want to travel on Friday, or make the drive Saturday morning.
Banquet – June 12, 2025
Our banquet is tentatively planned for Thursday, June 12. This is a fun evening of recognition and celebration that we hope everyone can attend. Please hold the date on your busy schedule for the 23rd BucBanquet.
Let’s take care of business this week and work toward another win on Saturday!
