Man of the Match: Gage Watters

The Bucs played Grand Haven High School in the first round of the Michigan High School Rugby State playoffs on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Kalamazoo. The team chalked up another win to extend their season, advancing them to the semifinals being held in Detroit on Saturday, May 30.

Groves Senior Wing Gage Watters put on a kicking exposition on the cold, rainy day, making all but one conversion and booming balls downfield into touch on penalties. He added a try and several long runs to his quarterfinal game performance, earning him Man of the Honors.
